NATALIE ELEFTHERIADIS is M Arts Academy trained and with an impressive list of credits including theatre, short films, and even a brief appearance in Irresistible starring Susan Sarandon and Emily Blunt, Natalie’s first association with Birthday began when she appeared in both the Melbourne and Adelaide seasons of the acclaimed theatrical play. Natalie’s portrayal of the leading role of ‘M’ received rave reviews. Working closely alongside Writer/ Director J. Harkness since the film’s conception, Natalie is not only Birthday’s leading lady, but also one of the film’s Producers, Executive Producer and Company Director of the Production Company Flip It Red Entertainment Pty Ltd. Natalie’s energy talent and enthusiasm in taking on both a debut leading role and as a first time film producer has impressed both media and industry professionals alike.
KESTIE MORASSI is Lily Best known for her performance as backpacker Kristy Earl in 2005’s acclaimed horror Wolf Creek for which she received an AFI nomination for best supporting actress, Kestie appeared twice in The Secret Life Of Us in 2002 before making the transition to films in 2003 with The Merchant of Fairness. Her appearance alongside an all-star cast in 2002’s Dirty Deeds saw her nominated for a Best Supporting Actor award by the Film Critics Circle of Australia. Since then, Morassi has appeared in Darkness Falls, Travelling Light, Strange Bedfellows, Thunderstruck and Josh Jarman and is fast becoming one of the most prolific and original young actors working in Australia. In recent work, Morassi played whip-cracking brothel manager Natalie in Foxtel's groundbreaking drama “Satisfaction” for which she landed a nomination in the prestigious Monte Carlo TV Festival and portrays sultry and infatuated criminal defense lawyer Zarah Garde-Wilson in the Nine Network TV drama Underbelly.
RICHARD WILSON is Joey Richard made his feature film debut in Deck Dogz from Oscar-nominated writer/director Steve Pasvolsky. In 2004, Richard was AFI nominated for Best Young Actor for his role as thinking girl’s sex symbol Miller McKee in the ABC TV Series Out There. In 2005, Richard starred in a pivotal role as Mike Burns, vulnerable younger brother to outlaws Charlie (Guy Pearce) and Arthur (Danny Huston) Burns in Nick Cave’s brutally compelling feature, The Proposition, directed by John Hillcoat, which won best Film at the IF awards. His most recent film credits include the lead role in 48 Shades, directed by Daniel Lapaine and Clubland, directed by AFI award winning Cherie Nowlan. He was critically acclaimed for his performance in Clubland for which he received an AFI nomination for Best Supporting Actor and will also star in The Loved Ones due for release in 2009. TRAVIS MCMAHON is Father Phillip Travis is best known for his leading role in the popular television drama Last Man Standing and his acclaimed performance as Tourette Syndrome sufferer, Reuben in Good Guys, Bad Guys which earned him a Logie Award Nomination. Travis has since become one of Australia’s most popular and recognizable actors, with a long list of impressive television credits including All Saints, Stingers, Halifax F.P and Blue Heelers. McMahon played Ted Pickles in Company B Belvoir St. Theatre’s Production of Cloudstreet, which went on to play to sold-out audiences in London’s West-End. Most recently Travis starred in Kokoda, and Cactus alongside Bryan Brown and Shane Jacobsen. Receiving critical acclaim for his portrayal of Jack in Shot Of Love, and a Logie Nomination for Stingers, Travis McMahon’s star is on the rise both at home and internationally.
RA CHAPMAN is Cindy Born in Pusan, Korea and adopted at the age of three, Ra wa raised in South Australia, but studied at The Actors Centre in London and performed as Greta in Memorphosis and Celia in Volpone. Ra’s credits also include several independent short films including Interdit, and Le Chien Qui Fume, Prologue, and I Love You Majid. Ra captivated our director when she shone in her role as Rhia, in Alice Pung’s Educating Rhia in 2007’s Melburnalia and is exquisite in her feature film debut as Cindy in Birthday. Following her debut, Ra also appeared in a small role alongside Nicholas Cage in Knowing and was featured in a guest role on City Homicide.
CHANTAL CONTOURI is Scarlet An icon of Australian film and Television, Chantal was born in Greece, and has had many starring roles in Australian films and played guest and recurring roles in numerous television series. Unforgettable in her role as Tracey Wilson in the soap opera Number 96 from 1974-1975, Chantal also later appeared in The Sullivans as Melina Tsangarakis for which she won the 1979 Logie Award for Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role. Chantal went on to appear in the US Daytime soap opera General Hospital 1988 and in a guest role on Australian teen soap E Street 1993. Famous for her memorable role in sex comedy Alvin Purple Rides Again 1974, Chantal also starred in MetalSkin 1994, horror-suspense film Thirst 1979, Snapshot 1979 and The Wannabes 2003. Birthday is set to be Chantal’s much-anticipated comeback. |
